The Brin de Corse Project

Who Are We?

Formerly Neva Gifts launched in 2013, Brin de Corse is a free project created by the company Corsican Projects, a Corsican enterprise established in 2012 dedicated to the development of insular projects through new technologies.

The Brin de Corse project is the result of an idea carried by three former students of the University of Corsica with the cooperation of the office of the association, A Strada di l'Artigiani.

Objectives

The Brin de Corse website is a gateway between artisans and internet users. It is a project aimed at showcasing local know-how by giving visibility and accessibility to handmade artisanal products.

Being Free in Your Mode of Purchase

The Brin de Corse website wishes to offer all purchasing possibilities to support the success of its artisans. You will find all contact data communicated by your artisans (email and/or phone, address) by clicking on "More details" on each product page. The objective is to leave all possible choices between:

Brin de Corse is an additional and free service, offered to artisans who are members of the Villages de Corse association, who are already accustomed to conducting mail-order sales.

Commission and Site Policy

The site has chosen to set the lowest possible commission, allowing it to self-finance. All orders are tracked, as well as coordination with suppliers, contact management, stock management, and contingencies.

The commission paid by the buyer is 10% on the transaction for online products. On each transaction, the site is itself commissioned according to the commission calculation of the PayPal solution (which varies according to volume), and PayPlug between 1.6% and 2.5% (+ 0.25 euros per transaction) are redistributed to the online payment solution Payplug, in addition to a monthly subscription. All bank fees deducted, the site's profit on a sale is between 4 and 5% depending on the transaction amount. This is in addition to the hosting of the site and the domain name, varying between 100 and 200 euros per year, as well as the creation, maintenance, and evolution of the site.

The commission on online wood sales is 7.5% on the purchased wood, and does not concern delivery fees. This choice aims to minimize any additional cost to buyers on already significant prices.

The policy regarding commissions may vary in the future, and they will always be listed here. So far, only one change has been made: indeed, until October 2023, the site's policy was not to commission shipping costs on products (which were the same for the buyer as the postal rates) to promote accessibility to buyers and sales to sellers, cutting into the site's commission, and taking the risk of negative commissions when shipping costs were proportionally higher than the amount of the merchandise.

Each order is followed to ensure its smooth processing with optimal shipping speed.

Note that online payments are secured by Payplug or Paypal solutions, depending on your choice. All online payments are made on the interface of these online payment solutions. A transaction can be canceled for particular cases (stock out, readjustment of delivery fees, ...), and the amount paid by the buyer can be refunded in full or in part depending on the case.
